Keynote Spotlight at TFWA
It’s the very nature of much of our work that we go unnoticed. After all, it’s our job to market and promote our clients and their brands, not ourselves. That said, it’s a source of pride that FILTR was involved in the opening address of TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes earlier this month.
Talk about “no pressure”… Erik is addresses over 1,600 of the most influential executives in the global travel retail industry. His speech sets the tone for the opening morning conference, and the entire week, offering a ‘state of the nation’ overview of the travel retail industry - including the first look at Generation’s 2016 figures. He also sets the scene for the stellar guest speaker lineup, which this year included Randi Zuckerberg, CEO of Zuckerberg Media and sister of a certain Mark Zuckerberg, and David Milliband, former British Foreign Secretary.
There’s quite a lot to fit in to a relatively short amount of time – with this year’s speech touching on geo-political instabilities, economic challenges, Brexit and regulatory pressures, as well as more positive messages about tourism and travel growth, aviation, retail investment and the ever-present opportunity offered by digital technology...
Clarity of his communication is paramount. FILTR were commissioned to create and animate Erik’s supporting visuals to encapsulate and bring to life a wide range of information and themes for a truly international audience - many of whom are not native English speakers. In sync with Erik’s script, our work was displayed on a gigantic and amazingly impactful scale, striking the tough balance between creativity and clarity.
